Product photography for Not Perfect Linen: sustainable Spring set
An avid supporter and long-time customer, cult-favorite Not Perfect Linen not only makes up a large portion of my own capsule wardrobe, but their garments undoubtedly end up in my suitcase for every trip, no matter the destination!
Why linen? Natural and eco-friendly, linen not only gets better with age, but has numerous benefits — from it’s strength and durability, to it’s anti-odor and anti-bacterial properties. But living in a sub-tropical climate, our favorite quality is the exceptional breathability and moisture-wicking properties that make it a staple for hot and humid locales. Don’t be fooled, though, a versatile and season-less fabric, it’s temperature-regulating, making it amazing to layer in the winter.
Below, learn more about Not Perfect Linen, their business, practices, and products, as well as a look at some of my most-worn slow fashion pieces from the brand.
ABOUT THE BRAND
Based in Lithuania, Not Perfect Linen is a family-run brand that embodies the philosophy “the beauty of linen is that it’s not perfect”. But a complete misnomer, Not Perfect Linen skillfully crafts some of the most beautiful linen clothing I’ve had the pleasure of adding to my closet.
In order to minimize their environmental footprint, the entire process — from designing, to cutting, sewing, labelling, packing and shipping — is done in-house. So many of today’s clothes being made with synthetics, plastics like nylon or polyester, that wreak havoc on our environment. Not Perfect Linen works only with sustainable, natural materials that are considerate of our planet, such as low-impact dyes, coconut shell buttons, and high-quality OEKO-TEX certified European linen made from the flax plant. This means the fabric is free of harmful chemicals often found in the fashion industry, and does not harm people or the environment.
Avoiding the non-essential, you’ll never find intricate cuts, non-comfortable fits, zippers or excess bells and whistles. Rather, Not Perfect Linen prioritizes a clean and versatile look evident via loose, relaxed cuts and simple silhouettes. Committed to quality and inclusiveness, and suitable for all ages, shapes and sizes, this brand helps make slow fashion more accessible by generously offering customizations free of charge. For example, send in your measurements if they don't align with the size chart, add or remove length, change the sleeve or neckline style, or swap in buttons for snaps.
A quiet protest against over-consumption, every piece is ethically handmade-to-order, produced on demand to help avoid over-production and textile waste. Avoiding programmed machines and non-human help, Not Perfect Linen’s process uses fewer resources and less energy. Though it takes time — anywhere from three to six weeks, it’s well worth the wait! Unlike fast fashion brands that are mass-produced, garments are exactly what one would expect from a slow fashion label that’s passionate about high-quality materials, responsible production, and craftsmanship designed to last.

The Not Perfect Linen Bay Top in bronze brown embodies effortless elegance with its relaxed silhouette and cropped design.
Comfort and quality are at the forefront of the Bay Top's design, as seen in the clean stitching and timeless appeal. This simple sleeveless linen top features a high, rounded neckline that fits neatly across the shoulders. One of my favorite details, a convenient button at the back-of-neck, ensures ease of dressing, while subtle slits at the side seams provide a flexible fit at the waist. Darts at the bustline offer a subtle body-conforming fit.
The cropped length makes it perfect for pairing with any high-waist pants or skirts. Whether you choose to dress it up with a maxi skirt or keep it casual with favorite denim, the Not Perfect Linen Bay Top is a versatile staple that combines style and comfort seamlessly.
